Mumbai : Rudest city on Earth

Mumbai - India's crowded commercial centre Mumbai drives the nation's rapid economic growth but is far too busy to say "thank you," making it the world's rudest city, according to a survey.

Reader's Digest performed a survey recently.
Its about the helping tendency and common courtesy.
They performed three experiments:
"door tests" (would anyone hold one open for them?);
"document drops" (who would help them retrieve a pile of "accidentally" dropped papers?); and
"service tests" (which sales clerks would thank them for a purchase?).

These tests were done undercover, ie, no one knew that they are being tested!

And the results say that Mumbai is the rudest while New York is the most helpful and courteous city.

Ha this is great. If somebody drops the documents let them pick it up themselves. Why should anyone help? Remember, the New York people taught us capitalism and now they are evaluating us for communism. In capitalism everything is done for money, you dont do something for nothing. And pray why, may I ask, should someone hold the door open for somebody else? Why, he or she cant open the door themselves? It is not a question of being rude, if people are just behavingin a cut-and-dried manner thatis far more perfect than being courteous or helpful. It always annoys me. Do your business and do that only properly. Everything else will take care of itself.
